Green Bathroom Design with ALL the details

Imagine if several million people had seen your toilet… well that’s what happened to me when I revealed my green downstairs loo on Instagram!! It’s definitley a crowd pleaser but not just because it’s pretty and those green tiles ooze quiet, calm and sophistication it’s also a giant store cupboard. Say whaaattt??!! In this blog post I’ll take you on the journey of how we went from boring/ plain WC with a boiler on show to a sleek, tranquil room I want to spend more time in than I actually need to.

The design process:

Being an Interior Designer I just couldn’t wait to get my mits on this room of doom and transform it and I ALWAYS start with layout. Is it functional? Does anything need to change? Luckily, the answer to those questions was no, which made the construction phase waaaaay easier. But, there did need to be some construction in here to house the boiler and the new cupboards (can you see them??!) Nope not the ones on the right, look again…

Now, to the bit you probably want to know, where are all the bits from?? So, the sink, toilet taps, waste traps and flush are all from Victorian Plumbing not to be confused with Victoria Plumbing, another UK based bathroom retailer. Apparently, the owners are rival brothers who hate each other but that could very well be an urban myth that I’m perpetuating!

It’s the details that matter, right so let’s get down to the nitty gritty. That towel hook, my oh, my it’s pretty and genius as there’s no drilling involved at all. Yep that’s right it’s stick on and you can get yours here. The towel itself is an H&M beauty and the colour and texture just compliment the scheme so perfectly. Now, not to forget the delight that is the bin

And the tiles, tiles how can I forget the tiles. I feel I need to say this, I’ve said it before but please get a sample! So many people ignore that bit, having seen a room they like online and forge ahead only to realise it doesn’t look right in their space. So, if you take one thing away from this it should be make sure you get a sample!!

Without further ado these are the wall tiles and the floor tiles are here and lastly the wall colour is Little Greene Livid - Originally I had this down as being a pinky neutral on top but as soon as I saw it with the deep, lushious green I knew that was the only colour for my bathroom. Green Bathrooms rule!

Common questions I get asked are about cleaning the grout. It’s effort and I’m not gonna lie but I didn’t want to go with a grey so white it was. I clean it with bleach and a toothbrush twice a year (and obvs mop the floor in between!) I’m thinking of trying the pink stuff Mrs Hinch swears by or a steamer thingy but for now it’s good old fashioned scrubbing.

So, I hope that has given a good round up of everything green bathroom design related and has given you some big Interior Design Inspiration.
