The throw for your chair…

Now, I do love a quilt these days! Nothing like getting under one to keep you warm and cosy as the temperature drops. With its classic quilted design and earthy colours, this throw feels like a true comfort staple, ready for those quiet moments when you want to unwind with a good book or your favourite show. This throw brings a sense of cosy familiarity to your space, inviting you to slow down and fully enjoy those autumn moments indoors.

A treat for your toes.

There’s something about a cosy rug that just makes a room feel complete, and I have to say, I’m loving this neutral Berber find. It’s soft underfoot, the perfect layer to sink your toes into after a long day, especially as the weather cools. With its subtle texture and calming tones, it brings warmth and character to any space without overpowering the room. This rug is all about adding comfort and that extra layer of cosiness—making your home feel like the ultimate retreat this season.

A layered lighting approach.

I’m a big fan of soft lighting when it comes to creating that cosy atmosphere, and this arched gold floor lamp does just that. With its warm glow, it brings a gentle light to your favourite reading corner or sofa, instantly making the room feel more inviting. As the evenings get darker, layered lighting like this really helps to set a calming mood—think table lamps, floor lamps, and candles working together to create a softly lit sanctuary. This lamp is perfect for adding that golden touch to your space, making it easy to relax and unwind as the nights draw in.

A place for hidden storage and styling.

There’s something beautifully grounding about a textured dark wood sideboard, and this one brings so much warmth and depth to an autumn-inspired space. The rich, earthy tones of the wood add a natural elegance that fits seamlessly into cosy autumn schemes. With its textured front, this sideboard isn’t just practical storage but a statement piece that adds interest to your room. Style it with a few seasonal touches—think dried flowers, a stack of well-loved books, or a softly glowing lamp—and you’ll have a charming, autumnal focal point that feels both timeless and inviting.

Mood Lighting…

As forementioned, lighting is key in any space but especially this time of year. I love to use texture in my spaces and this rattan lamp is a total beauty which will cast a soft glow across your space leaving you feeling calm and rejuvinating. Pop it on top of your sideboard with some books for flicking through and a few candles and you’ve be feeling hygge in no time.

Cushions for the win

Would it be autumn cosy season without a soft cushion? It’s time to get the velvets and wool covers out and tone the colours down in to darker and moodier hues ready to relax with a bowl of popcorn and you’re favourite bingeable TV series. If you are only buying cushion covers I really like the feather cushion inserts from Dunelm to stuff them and remember to buy the cushion insert 1 size bigger than the cushion cover for that extra plump look.

Somewhere for your mince pie?!

When planning a room design be that for autumn or not it’s always important to consider where you’ll be putting the snacks when your cuddled up in your armchair. I absolutely adore these bobbled side tables for this and always live and die by the rule of adding a bit of black to any scheme to help ground the space and make it feel more sleek. Whether it’s a hot coffee or an eggnog your sipping this side table will keep it off the ground and within arms reach.

Well there it is

I hope you enjoyed my autumnal round up of key pieces and items that will take you through the colder seasons snuggled in warmth until spring arrives.
