4 ways to decorate for Autumn

Yes, I understand that here in the UK we are basking in the glory of some very unseasonable hot weather and having an “Indian Summer” whatever that is, but we all need to project to next week where I’m pretty sure we’ll all be ready to get that warm jacket out whilst crying into our pumpkin spiced lattes.

Here I shall share my 4 favourite things to evolve your home with the changing seasons.

  1. A super easy way to add a touch of autumn is to change over those cushion covers. Colour is an obvious one, think rusts, deep browns and mustard yellows but texture is also a key consideration here with things like wools and bouclé's both being easy wins for creating that cosy vibe.

  2. It’s also now time to restack that wood pile next to the fire. I always associate seeing firewood in a basket or carefully stacked in or near the hearth with the ultimate in cosy. It just gets me thinking of crunchy walks in the woods kicking leaves and seeing the colours change – totally magical.

  3. Light a candle. Could it be any simpler??! But scent has such power in the way it can evoke calm and that little flicker of light is really something special. My favourite scents for this time of year are woody, earthy and definitely more masculine.  I’ve linked my go to candle here.

  4. Blankets – now who could forget a snuggly, soft blanket you could even opt for a heated variety for extra luxury. I’ve not tried these yet but fully intend to up my Hygge game this year and make the purchase.

Whatever you do let’s indulge all the sense with all things cosy, kick back, relax and enjoy the hibernation. Oh, and don’t forget to have a look at my Instagram page for more ideas on how to create an inviting home you’ll never want to leave.
